COVID-19 Update

Our community has been through a lot over the past few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same, our commitment to your safety and good health.

Our staff has been attending webinars to keep abreast of best practices in providing the most safe and comfortable dental experience. Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the recommended guidance practices of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on most stringent practices to ensure that our infection control procedures are the most effective and safe. Our staff has been thoroughly trained in these infection control protocols which are strictly adhered to.

You will notice some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
*Before your appointment you will be asked a series of COVID-19 screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again when you arrive for your appointment.
*Upon arrival, you will have your temperature taken. If you have a fever or any COVID-19 related symptoms, your appointment will be rescheduled.
*You may notice that our reception room will no longer offer magazines, pamphlets or children's toys which are difficult items to disinfect from COVID-19
*Appointments will be scheduled and furnishings in the office are spaced to allow for social distancing.
*Patients are asked to come to the office wearing a facial mask and to wear it after your dental treatment. You will be asked to put on a pair of nitrile gloves. Dr. Silvers and our staff will be wearing facial masks, shields, gloves, scrub hats and lab coats.
*The front desk counter in our reception area will be covered with the "sneeze guard" -- Plexiglass to protect you with social distancing from our staff.
*Operatories have been outfitted with air sanitizing filtration systems so that any aerosols from patient treatments will be eliminated.
*Please keep your personal items: phones, keys, glasses and other small items in your purse or backpack to prevent them from coming in contact with frequently touched surfaces.

*Please arrive for your appointment on time. We will do our best to schedule for patient flow that allows for only one patient in the reception area at any given time. Please let us know if you would prefer to remain in your car and be called to come in for your appointment.
*We ask that patients do not bring companions to their appointment except for instances where the patient requires assistance. Any companions will also be screened in the same way as the patient.

Required safeguards are being implemented following the latest in infection control guidelines for utmost protection of our patients. These practices come with increased costs. There will be an infection control charge of $10 to be paid at each appointment to cover these additional expenses.

If left unattended or undetected, dental problems do not get better and will almost surely require more extensive and costly treatment in the future. Regular visits to the dentist are the surest way to prevent dental problems and unnecessary expenses. Now that we have been given the o.k. to reopen by the governor and Illinois State Dental Society, we are here for your dental care.

We look forward to seeing you soon. To schedule your next appointment please call us at 847- 675- 7010 .Thank you for your trust and loyalty. We look forward to welcoming you back to our practice.
