Patients of the Cosmetic and Implant Dental Center benefit from the extensive education and over 30 years of experience from one doctor. They are relieved that their concern can be addressed by one doctor. They don’t need to make multiple appointments between many professionals for their diagnosis and treatment — which requires more appointments more time and expense.
After a treatment, if the patient has any concerns, the patient does not have to wonder which doctor to consult – the surgeon or general dentist to address her problem.
The patient comes back to Dr. Silvers, who is aware of the history of the tooth and can remedy any problem.
A 50 year old patient was referred to Dr. Silvers by another general dentist for an orthodontic consult.
The patient had seen a few orthodontists who advised him to have a complicated surgery and then extensive orthodontic treatment to straighten his crooked teeth. The patient wanted his jumbled teeth to be straightened — to be able to clean his teeth and gums and to feel and look better. Being a working older adult, married with college-aged children he wanted improvement to his appearance and function but was not interested in extensive surgery.
Dr. Silvers listened to the patient’s concern and found a solution that was appropriate to his needs. Dr. Silvers was able to do orthodontic treatment without involving surgery.
The patient was thrilled with the cosmetic dentistry improvement provided by Dr. Silvers.
A patient was referred to our office from another general dentist office to extract a tooth.
The patient was in pain. The x-ray appeared to show severe bone loss. Her dentist diagnosed the tooth as unrestorable and needed removal but he didn’t feel comfortable to do the surgery.
After reviewing the patient’s dental history and examining the tooth, my diagnosis was clear. The tooth had been infected for 3 months. That amount of bone loss in that short time was unlikely. The tooth was not mobile considering the amount of assumed bone loss.
After re-examining with a new digital x-ray, the diagnosis was clear that the bone tissue was actually present and the tooth could be treated and saved.
I successfully treated the tooth with root canal therapy. The tooth was saved. The patient was able to avoid extraction surgery and future surgical placement of a dental implant to restore her mouth.
